The three works deal with self sufficiency, self containment, enclosure in self, as ultimate source for survival and pleasure. In "Autonomous Journey" the protagonist is attached to an old thermal bath's well, creating an enclosed cycle of breathing and nourishment, simulating the embryonic state, where borders between nourisher and nourished are, as yet undefined. In "Autonomous Angel", an angel (traditionally depicted aas sexless) engages in self gratification - perhaps its ultimate way to safeyuard independence. "Autonomous Tulips" are willfully male and female, thus self sufficient.
